Great article! Another important point to remember - don't kept picking up your dog like it's a baby. Train it to come when called or sit on command, and it will be way more well behaved in the long run. Repeatedly lifting dogs creates a lot of anxiety in them and you're setting them up for more aggressive behavior.

I have a golden retreiver and so I had no choice but to train her. Can't possibly lift her every time :D but I do see this issue with a lot of tiny dogs.
